The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney

Consider this a review of the first 126 pages, because I just couldn’t make it past that point. It’s not a terrible book—I’ve finished worse—but it never pulled me in. Sure, it starts with a man getting in a car accident because he was driving intoxicated while getting a hand job from a waitress he picked up, but after that it’s a bit of a snooze. If you’re going to make people care about rich people’s drama, you have to actually bring the drama, you know? I may be the outlier—I’ve read a fair amount of glowing reviews—but The Nest wasn’t for me.
